Mail order LS and Vortec tuning for 1996 and newer GM vehicles.

Description

Let us use our years of dyno and street tuning experience to create a mail-order tune for your GM LS or Vortec-powered vehicle. This service covers all 1996 to 2018 GM gas vehicles with a 4.3, 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0, 6.2, 7.0, or 7.4-liter engine. This includes RPO codes like LM7, LR4, LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LS7, LS9, LSA, L59, L33, LQ4, LQ9, L76, LY6, L96, LY2, LH6, LY5, L92, L99, L31, L29, LT1, LT4, L83, L86,  and probably a few others we forgot.

Performance tuning for the V8s typically yields 15-40 rwhp with a 1-2 mpg increase! Power gains will depend on your modifications and the health of the engine. We’ve seen as much as 75 RWHP with full bolt on LS3 vehicles. We also spend significant time working on part-throttle performance, making your vehicle much more responsive and efficient. We offer mail-order tuning for almost any setup and will optimize the tune based on any modifications you may have added.

You can add services for cam swaps, but it’s important to set realistic expectations. Our mail-order tunes for stage 1 and most stage 2 cam upgrades will be very close to ideal. If you’re experiencing stalling or surging issues, they’re likely related to an electrical or mechanical problem like a failed O2 sensor, vacuum/exhaust leak, or bad coils, plugs, or wires. Stage 3 cams may still have stalling or startup issues that are tune related and we can improve these bad habits by changing the calibration but vehicles with stage 3 and larger cams really need a full dyno and street tune for optimal drivability, power, and reliability.

If you choose to come to us for a dyno tune after purchasing a mail-order tune, we’ll apply your mail-order tune payment toward the cost!

Yes, we fully tune the transmission as part of our mail-order service. This includes firmer and faster shifts, speedometer recalibration, torque management, and adjusted shift points. This applies to any GM vehicle with a 4L60 or 4L80 transmission, as well as variants like the 4L65 and 4L70. Some trucks and SUVs have a separate transmission controller that needs to be sent in for tuning. In general, 2005 and newer GM vehicles will have a separate transmission control module. Transmission tuning is one of the best bang-for-the-buck upgrades for a full-size truck!

Please note that for any GM vehicle with a 6L80 or 6L90 six-speed automatic transmission, the T43 controller is inside the transmission, making it impractical to remove for tuning. So, unless you purchase an HP Tuners email tune from us or have it tuned in person, we will not be able to make changes to the six-speed transmission during the tuning.

We will tune the LSA and LS9 ONLY when they are completely stock. Otherwise, we only offer tuning for forced induction setups if you have HP Tuners and a wideband.

We can tune for whichever octane* you prefer, but premium fuel is highly recommended. Many trucks will experience spark knock with the stock spark tables, and using premium will help you get the most power and gas mileage possible!

FAQ:

What is the difference between PCM, ECM, and TCM?

Answer: PCM and ECM are often used interchangeably and basically mean the same thing. Technically, a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is a single computer that controls both the engine AND transmission (hence, powertrain). The Transmission Control Module (TCM) controls the transmission. An Engine Control Module (ECM) only operates the engine (so an ECM implies the presence of a separate TCM).

I live in or near Atlanta. Can I get a mail-order tune in person?

Answer: Yes, we call this service a reflash tune. Contact us for details.

My GM vehicle is not listed. Can you tune it?

Answer: Yes, most likely. Contact us to work out the details.

How do I mail in my ECM/PCM/TCM?

Don’t overthink it. Remove the PCM, ECM, and/or TCM from the vehicle, pack them securely in a box, and mail them to us. Leave a note with anything you need us to do (like VATS delete, DOD/AFM delete, VVT cam delete, tire size and/or gear size for speedo adjustment, and any DTC that should be disabled. YouTube can be helpful if you need assistance with finding and removing the module. Detailed instructions and the shipping address are included and emailed with your purchase confirmation. It is not required to send us the TCM, but since the price is the same, you might as well make the extra effort. Of course, if you don’t send the TCM, your transmission will retain the stock calibration.
