Both can read, flash and data log supported vehicles. The important difference is who controls the calibration: RTD4 keeps the workflow with PCM Tuners; MPVI4 gives you the full HP Tuners VCM Suite toolset.

CREDITS + CONTROLLER ACCESS
The device is only
one part of the path.
Both devices use HP Tuners’ credit-based licensing system. Credits are not included with PCM Tuners hardware or calibration services; buy the required quantity directly from HP Tuners after registering the device.
Some newer ECMs and TCMs also require an upgrade or unlock before either device can flash them. Your vehicle page should identify that requirement before you buy.
Already own
compatible hardware?
Buy the custom calibration without purchasing another device. We support eligible GM, Mopar, Ford and other HP Tuners applications; compatibility and controller access still depend on the exact vehicle.
