TUNE OPTIONS AND STAGES

This page explains some typical scenarios and prices for tuning your vehicle. It covers reflash tunes, various options for domestic vehicles, options for Euro/Asian vehicles, and it explains different tuning stages.

APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE

(BUT NOT REQUIRED)
  • Want to tune your daily driver? The best way is to get an appointment.
  • For Reflash and Stage 1 tunes you can drop off around 9:00 and pickup around 4:00
  • $150 deposit required (applied to total cost) and guarantees your spot.
  • Appointments are not necessary. We are usually booked 3-5 days in advance.
  • You are free to drop off your vehicle anytime and we will work you in over a few days.
You WILL Notice the Difference
Tuning increases power and torque from 5%-20%

A cold air intake or cat-back exhaust may look good and sound good, but they do not add much power – and you already know this.

Did you install bolt-ons and have to convince yourself it was better? The reason you cannot tell a difference with these mods is because the gains are very small.

We are an authorized custom tuning dealer for the SCT and Bully Dog devices including the X4, BDX, Livewire, GT Gas, and GT Diesel. We have ALL the tune files for any vehicle supported by these devices.

We also have in-house tunes developed and available through HP Tuners, EFI Live, and Westers Diesel Tuner.

We can tune thousands of gas and diesel powered vehicles from Asian and European manufacturers. We use hardware and software from companies like Alientech, Magic Motorsport, and EVC Electronic. PCM Tuners is licensed and authorized through all these companies.

STAGE 1 EUROPEAN OR ASIAN VEHICLE

  • Some Euro and Asian vehicles can't be reflashed through the OBD2 diagnostic port.

    These vehicles require us to remove the ECU from the vehicle to program the tune calibration. It takes more time and labor so it costs more.

In House Deveopment
PCM Tuners Stage 1 domestic vehicle tunes are custom developed in house by us. These tunes are ideal for vehicles that do not have a ready made tune file available. This tune service is intended for vehicles with bolt-on mods that will trigger a check engine light (CEL) or diagnostic trouble code (DTC). Typical examples are headers, non-stock diameter cold air intake, decat, O2 lambda off, and more.
Datalogging. Street Tuned.
You drive on the street. We tune on the street. This service includes road testing and data logging to ensure the tune is completely calibrated to your vehicle. We use Wideband O2 sensors and external knock monitors when needed.
Custom Options. Popular Add Ons.
You're not quite at the Stage 2 level. Maybe you have long tube headers or full exhaust. Lots of cars at the "full bolt on" level will need this service. Or maybe you're looking to grab some extra attention with pops and bangs? A pre-programmed reflash doesn't quite get it. you need someone with lots of experience who can make the extra tune calibration changes to get you going. This Stage 1 is the service for you.

STAGE 1 DOMESTIC VEHICLE

Cam Swaps
This is the tune service for cam swapped vehicles. We develop a full custom tune for your vehicle to ensure it works in all scenarios. Cold start, warm start, part throttle, full throttle. Park and Idle. Everything will work just as it did with factory parts.
Wideband and Knock Monitor
We tune with aftermarket equipment to ensure peak performance and engine safety. We use stand alone wideband O2 sensors from AEM and stand alone engine knock monitors from Plex. These additional tools help us get the most power in the safest way.
DTC, Vmax, Lambda off, DOD, AFM, all the alphabet soup
No additional calibration charges at this level. We take care of all of the alphabet soup. DTC, CEL, Vmax, O2, Rev limiter, CAGS, DOD, MDS, you name it we cover it.

STAGE 2 DOMESTIC VEHICLE

Completely custom tune to support cam swapped vehicles from Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Hummer, Jeep, Lincoln, Mercury, Pontiac, and Ram.

  • Develop full custom tune for your vehicle based on driving and datalogging. This service takes 8+ hours.
  • Road testing and datalogging included.
  • Stand alone wideband O2 and knock monitor used for tuning the vehicle.
  • All options inculded - Decat, O2, Vmax, Rev Limiter, DTC, Turn off DOD, AFM, MDS, CAGS, Vmax, and more.

Turbo, Supercharger, Swaps, BIG cams, More
If you are planning a big build and want to make BIG power please call us first. We LOVE to assist our customers design their dream ride, and it makes tuning much easier on everyone. I promise you we can point things that get overlooked and identify and landmines along your path. We are happy to discuss your goals, share our experience, and develop the ideal build for your vehicle.

STAGE 3

This is the catch all category and will need a phone consultation to go over everything before we can determine a price. Typical for Stage 3 would be any engine swaps, power adders like turbos or superchargers, standalone management systems, transmission swaps, torque converter upgrades, gear changes, water/methanol injecton, fuel system upgrades such as larger injectors, or anything with a different size engine or different model of transmission than what originally came with the vehicle.
