We offer a mail in service to delete the Vehicle Anti Theft System (VATS) in GM PCM and ECM modules. VATS will prevent your car or truck from starting after a security-system failure or an engine swap. The vehicle will crank but never start if VATS is active.

1998–2001 Vortec Black Box
Black case, four connectors, commonly used with 4.3L L35, 5.7L L05, L31, and 7.4L L29 engines.
GM 1999-2007 LS and Vortec Engines – Also known as 0411 / P01 / P59
Bare aluminum case with P01 red/blue or P59 blue/green connectors. “0411” usually refers to service number 12200411 and is a popular internet short-hand description.
2007-2013 E38 Gen IV LS
Bare aluminum case, black connector and gray connector, commonly used with Silverado, Corvette, and Camaro.
2007–2015 GM E67 LS2, LSA, & 3.6L High Feature V6
Bare aluminum case, blue, black, and gray connector, commonly used with the LS2 6.0, the LY7 3.6 Direct Injection V6, and the LSA Supercharged V8 engine in the Cadillac CTS-V and ZL1 Camaro.
1994-1997 LT1
Bare aluminum case, 4 colored connectors, commonly used with Camaro, Firebird, and Corvette.
2013-2018 LT1, L83, L86, LV3
Bare aluminum case, blue, black, and gray connector, commonly used with the direct injection LT1 Corvette and Camaro, and the Truck and SUV variants with the 4.3, the 5.3, and 6.2.
VATS delete service is available for nearly all GM vehicles from 1994 and newer including the 1994-1995 OBD1 based LT1 and the 1996-1997 OBD2 based LT1. Yes this includes all the V6 engines like the 3.1/3.4/3.8/4.3 in various cars, trucks, and vans. Yes this includes the 1998-2001 Black Box Vortec PCM.
Interestingly the 1996-1997 Black Box Vortec does not have VATS enabled, so if you have a Black Vortec PCM from those years know that it does not have VATS.
Not Supported. The Cadillac Northstar and the E55 PCM in the 2004–2005-ish GM 3.6/2.8 port-injected High Feature V6.
How do I know if VATS is the problem? The security light or lock icon stays lit on the gauge cluster. Also, it will run momentarily on starting fluid. VATS will NEVER cause the vehicle to shut down or turn off when driving.
VATS delete is also useful for a replacement PCM or ECM. You do not have to do the anti-theft relearn when VATS has been deleted.

- $299 complete mail-order tune: includes VATS removal when needed plus a performance tune, DTC setup for an engine swap, and startup tunes for a cam swap.
VATS can be included with the mail order tune. You do not need to purchase both products for the same controller.
