Mail-in controller replacement services

Module cloning. Original data, matching donor.

We transfer supported vehicle-specific data from your original controller to a matching donor, then return both modules. A successful clone gives you a replacement that is ready to install without dealer programming or an anti-theft relearn.

The process

How cloning works

1. Match the donor

Follow the manufacturer-specific matching rule. For GM, the complete service number on both labels must match exactly.

2. Send both modules

Place the order, submit label photos for approval, and securely ship the original and donor together.

3. Clone, verify, return

We transfer the supported data, read it back, power-cycle the donor, verify communication, and return both modules with tracking.

What cloning does – and what it does not do

Cloning can

  • Preserve supported vehicle-specific programming
  • Carry the original calibration into a matching donor
  • Make a successfully cloned replacement ready to install

Cloning cannot

  • Repair failed electronics or vehicle wiring
  • Recover data that is physically unreadable
  • Make the wrong donor hardware compatible

A controller that does not communicate in the vehicle may still be recoverable on the bench. We make that determination after direct testing.

Want PCM Tuners to find the donor?

Customer-supplied donors are the simplest and fastest path. If you prefer, we can quote a sourced donor based on the original module label. The quote includes the donor, sourcing and bench verification, cloning, and return shipping.
