Mopar PCM / ECM VIN Change Service

This mail-order service writes your vehicle’s 17-digit VIN into a donor or replacement Dodge powertrain control module. It is available for 1996-and-newer Dodge applications.

Before you order: match the Module P/N

• Find the number labeled Module P/N or P/N on the original PCM or ECM.
• The donor or replacement module must have the same base Module P/N.
• The final two-letter date-code suffix does not need to match. For example, a base part number ending in AA may be replaced by AB, AC, or the same base number with another two-letter date code.
• Do not order by connector appearance alone. Similar-looking modules can contain different hardware or calibrations.

• Programming the VIN you provide into the donor or replacement PCM or ECM.

Important limitations

This is a VIN change service, not a module sale, repair, tune, full clone, or guaranteed plug-and-play conversion. Depending on the vehicle and replacement module, additional security/key programming, initialization, configuration, or relearn procedures may still be required after installation. If the base Module P/N does not match, do not ship the module.

How mail-order service works

1. Purchase this service.
2. Complete the service request form using your order number.
3. Remove and securely package your PCM/ECM or module(s).
4. Send only the bare PCM/ECM or module(s). Before shipping, remove all plastic or metal brackets, mounting pieces, screws, wiring-harness gaskets, and other accessories. Extra pieces are not part of this service and may not be returned, so please keep them with the vehicle. PCM Tuners is responsible only for the module(s) sent for service.
5. We strongly recommend that you use the white 9" x 3" x 12" Pen+Gear brand boxes available at Walmart. They are strong, made in the USA, and cost about $1. Most GM ECM and PCM modules fit in these perfectly. Just add a bit of paper on the ends to prevent the module from sliding in the box during transit.
