Mopar PCM / ECM VIN Change Service

This mail-order service writes your vehicle’s 17-digit VIN into a donor or replacement Dodge powertrain control module. It is available for 1996-and-newer Dodge applications.

Before you order: match the Module P/N

• Find the number labeled Module P/N or P/N on the original PCM or ECM.
• The donor or replacement module must have the same base Module P/N.
• The final two-letter revision suffix does not need to match. For example, a base part number ending in AA may be replaced by AB, AC, or another revision of that same base number.
• Do not order by connector appearance alone. Similar-looking modules can contain different hardware or calibrations.

Important limitations

This is a VIN change service, not a module sale, repair, tune, full clone, or guaranteed plug-and-play conversion. Depending on the vehicle and replacement module, additional security/key programming, initialization, configuration, or relearn procedures may still be required after installation. If the base Module P/N does not match, do not ship the module.

How mail-order service works

1. Purchase this service.
2. Complete the service request form using your order number. Choose Mopar VIN change and enter the VIN plus both Module P/Ns.
3. Remove and securely package your PCM or ECM.
4. We STRONGLY recommend the white 9" x 3" x 12" Pen+Gear boxes sold at Walmart. They are strong, made in the USA, cost about $1, and fit most PCM/ECM modules. Add paper or other packing material at the ends so the module cannot slide inside the box.
