HP Tuners Universal Tune Credits
Universal Tune Credits are used to license your vehicle’s control modules inside the HP Tuners platform. Licensing is required before you can flash a custom calibration using MPVI or RTD devices.
What Tune Credits Do
- License your ECM, TCM, FICM, or other supported modules
- Unlock unlimited read/write capability (license once, flash unlimited times)
- Allow flashing of custom PCM Tuners calibration files
- Remain permanently tied to your device once applied
Important Details
- Credits never expire
- Credits are linked to your MPVI2, MPVI3, MPVI4, or RTD device
- Cannot be transferred between devices
- Non-refundable once used to license a vehicle
How Many Credits Do You Need?
Credit requirements vary by vehicle and module:
- Most 2014 and older GM/Ford/FCA vehicles: 2 credits
- 2016+ ECM + TCM setups: typically 4–6 credits
- Diesel, Ford, and certain newer platforms require additional credits
For exact licensing costs, check the
HP Tuners Supported Vehicles List.
