GM Transmission Tune (HP Tuners)
Transmission tuning is one of the biggest drivability upgrades you can make—faster shifts, less hunting, better throttle response, improved lockup strategy, and a transmission that feels confident (not lazy or “confused”).

Choose Your Shift Feel
Sport (Recommended)
The way the factory should have set it up: quicker shifts, consistent timing, better throttle response, less hunting, and coordination for common upgrades (cam, converter, etc.).
Aggressive (Very Firm)
Same strategy, but firmness turned up. This one bangs gears. Your passengers (and the uninformed) may think something is wrong—not for the faint of heart, this is FIRM.
Both options are the same price—choose the feel you want.
Standalone or Paired With an Engine Tune
- Can be purchased standalone if you already have a tune.
- Best results when paired with a PCM Tuners engine tune—engine + transmission calibrations work together.
- If you’re tuned by someone else, results may vary (we’re tuning “behind/after” another calibration).
What You Need (Hardware + Credits)
This product assumes you already have HP Tuners hardware and the required credits. If you’re missing anything:

2019+ T93 TCM Unlock (If Applicable) $200
The 2019+ GM 8-speed/10-speed vehicles use a factory-locked T93 TCM that requires an unlock before tuning. We offer in-house TCM unlock (Atlanta local same-day possible; otherwise mail-in).
The T93 must be removed from the vehicle to perform the unlock. You can remove it yourself and bring/mail it to us, or we can do it for you. It is $140 for removal and reinstallation.
HP Tuners Credits by Platform (Transmission Tuning)
Credit price reference: 1 Universal Credit is $50 (so 4 credits = $200).
1997–2014 GM (4L60 / 4L80 / 6L80 / 6L90): Credits for transmission tuning are “included” when you license the ECM/PCM. No additional HP Tuners credits are needed to tune the transmission. Just purchase our transmission calibration and you will be able to flash the transmission with the ECM/PCM credits you already have.
6L80 (T43) note: I get a lot of questions on this. The GM 6L80/90 6-Speed with the internal T43 TCM is always “included” in terms of credits required from HP Tuners. This applies to vehicles through model year 2020.
